It has been another very busy half term in Ysgol y Grango. Staff and pupils have continued to work very hard to make
furthur improvements and our combined efforts are continuing to be rewarded. The new pastoral system is proving to be very
effective and Heads of Year are working very hard to monitor the progress of their respective year groups. We are absolutely
delighted with the way Year 7 pupils have settled in to Grango.
A number of exicting events have taken place including two trips to
Glanllyn. Pupils who took part in these visits enjoyed themselves immensely and as always were excellent ambassadors for the
school. Approximately seventy Year 9 pupils attended an exhibition and workshops at Erlas Education Centre on the Holocaust.
Again their attitude, effort and behaviour were exemplary. A number of Year 7 pupils took part in a series of activities organised
by the Crucial Crewe team. All representatives of the Emergency Services commented on thir behaviour. In fact, our School
Police Liason Officer made a point of sharing his positives observations. I am delighted to be able to pass on comments regarding
the exemplary behaviour and approach to learning of our students.
Another significant highlight this term has
been the outstanding modular Science results. Over 50% of students acheived a Grade C or above. Star Performers included Wayne
Evans, Nathan McClean, Jenny Edge, Louise Williams and Thomas Gallagher who all acheived A*. These results are very promising
at this stage.
It has been a very positive start to the new year
and we are looking foreward to future acheivements and successes.
